AI has also made it possible to generate music based on provided descriptions. Numerous projects can be found on the internet that leverage AI to simplify music creation. Among them, MusicLM stands out as a noteworthy AI developed by Google’s think tank, ensuring a high level of quality.
It’s important to note that MusicLM is currently in its beta version, and there may not be a final release. Additionally, while it enables music creation based on descriptions, creating the next summer hit is not guaranteed unless the perfect description is found. Furthermore, it’s worth mentioning that the music generated by MusicLM does not include vocals. If vocal incorporation is desired, tools like Autotune can be employed.
MusicLM, Google’s AI to create music
To begin using the MusicLM platform, we need to visit the designated Google website by following this link and click on the “Get Started” button. We will be prompted to provide some information, including our country of residence and the purpose for which we intend to utilize this AI during its beta phase.
After completing the registration process, we will need to wait for the invitation email, which will grant us access to start using the service. Once received, we can click on the same link we used earlier to access the platform and proceed with signing up.
MusicLM operates similarly to other AI models used for generating text or images. We simply need to provide a brief description of what we are looking for. It’s important to provide a comprehensive description for better results. Additionally, using English instead of Spanish can help avoid any potential interpretation errors when MusicLM translates the text to understand our intent.

Each description will generate two types of tracks, which can be downloaded directly to our PC by clicking on the three vertical dots displayed next to the playback box.
MusicLM is particularly suitable for generating ambient music, accompanying videos, or creating looping tracks. If the generated result doesn’t precisely match our expectations, we can make slight modifications to the description to align it more accurately with our desired outcome. However, we should be cautious, as significant changes may result in a completely different sound or tone.
