One of the big questions that many users are asking is if there is so much difference between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro to decide which one to buy. In this article we show you the main differences as well as the similarities that are many.
Technical differences
To be able to decide in the end between two iPhones, it is important to know the differences that exist at a technical level. Between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro there are hardly any differences and some are not too relevant, for example in the camera section where the use that each user is going to give will depend on it. In the following table you can see clearly how these two teams differ and how they are alike.

Similarities and differences in design
The first thing that can be seen in an iPhone is undoubtedly the design. In this case, both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro share a very similar aesthetic with flat edges that transfer us to the iPhone 4. The back and front are kept in both teams in an identical way except obviously in the camera module. The iPhone 12 has only two cameras and that is why the placement of these is different as well as the flash itself that is located in the center left of the module. On the front, both teams maintain the notch and a 6.1 ″ OLED screen that allows there to be no black frame around the iPhone 12 as if it happened in the previous generation, making an important difference.

Where if there is a big difference is in the colors available. While in the iPhone 12 Pro they bet on much colder and more sober colors, in the iPhone 12 the colorful range that users have fallen in love with is maintained. This makes it a much more remarkable team among the entire range, although this is a section in which you can decide which is more beautiful. This is where the taste of each user must intervene to decide which equipment is more suitable.
Cameras
As we have mentioned previously, the main difference that exists between both teams resides in the camera system. The iPhone 12 Pro opts for a triple camera system with a wide angle, ultra wide angle and a telephoto lens, all 12 MP that is complemented by a LiDAR sensor. This does not happen in the iPhone 12 where the telephoto lens and the LiDAR sensor are dispensed with but the wide angle and ultra wide angle are maintained with the same megapixel technical characteristics and focal aperture as in the iPhone 12 Pro. In the case of the camera front, the same technical characteristics and functions are maintained, so you should not notice the difference.

These differences in the background are not really important. The telephoto camera is something that few people get to use on a daily basis, if we talk about a non-professional user. By keeping the other two lenses with the same benefits, you will hardly notice the difference in the use of the camera.
Processor and connectivity
Regarding the processor, both devices have the same A14 Bionic chip with Neural Engine. This is something really important since all the camera functionalities can be integrated in both teams. The photographic treatment that is done after taking a photograph is identical on both computers. That is why the night mode is maintained in the video recording in the front camera and in the rear, something that could not be said in the previous generation. This processor is complemented by 4GB of RAM memory in the case of the iPhone 12 and 6 GB in the Pro range. This is a difference that in practice is not noticeable since the fluidity of the operating system is more than guaranteed in both cases. Where there are also differences is in the internal storage since while the iPhone 12 starts from 64 GB and only reaches 256 GB, the iPhone 12 Pro starts from 128 GB and reaches up to 512 GB.

Apple has opted to integrate 5G connectivity in both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro but not in the same way. Only the Pro range enables much higher speeds thanks to the ultra-wide mmWave band. Unfortunately, this frequency spectrum that is included in the iPhone 12 Pro can only be used in the US. Outside the North American country the difference is not important and that is why it is not a difference to take into account when the device is to be purchased in other countries such as Spain.
No differences in autonomy
With regard to autonomy there are no appreciable differences between the two devices. By having an identical screen with the same resolution and a size also traced, the battery hardly has any differences. In theory, according to information from Apple, and in practice the battery can reach the end of the day perfectly. The technical information offers an autonomy of up to 17 hours in video playback, so it complies perfectly.

Recharging can be done via cable with the lightning input in both cases or by induction thanks to the Qi standard. MagSafe technology is also included in the two iPhones to be able to magnetically couple a compatible charger that offers a charging power of 20W. In addition to chargers, other accessories can also be used.
What device is it recommended to buy?
Given the few differences between the two devices, it can be said without a doubt that it is more advisable to purchase the iPhone 12 for most cases. The design is very similar with a traced screen and an autonomy where there are hardly any differences. Where if there is a notable difference is in the camera since the iPhone 12 Pro has a telephoto lens and a LiDAR sensor, something that is not present in the iPhone 12. These differences are not important for the average user since everything is not going to be removed. the benefit it deserves, something that photography professionals can achieve.

The base price difference is 250 euros and we believe that it is not justifiable due to the features included in the iPhone 12 Pro. With the iPhone 12 you will have an experience very similar to the Pro with an identical screen, a good camera system and 5G connectivity that is now what users demand. And with all this you can save money on the purchase of your mobile device.
