The iPad mini is one of those computers that are designed for the general public that is a client of the company. The only problem with the latest model that hit the market is undoubtedly the design that seems somewhat dated. This is something that may end up changing sooner than expected. We’ll tell you then.
Apple to redesign the iPad mini
As reported today by Mac Otakara , Apple is already working on the new iPad mini. This is information that comes from the supply chain itself in China and the main novelty will be on the screen itself. Right now the iPad mini 5 has a 7.9 ″ screen that looks a bit small due to the pronounced bezels on the tablet. These bezels also give an antique design since there are several iPad models on the market that make much better use of this space, such as the Air version or the Pro version.

That is why the new iPad mini 6 would finally have an 8.4 ″ screen without having to increase the size of the chassis which is obviously what characterizes this iPad the most. The fact that this model is the last to integrate such a design undoubtedly responds to cost savings. When production has already adapted to this type of construction, making an iPad mini 6 with reduced bezels does not involve a very high financial outlay. Everything must be very oriented to the fact of keeping a low price so that it is accessible to all potential users.

This step will generate some problems that have an easy solution. As with the iPad Air 2020, having a reduced bezel means that Touch ID technology cannot be on the front of the iPad. The most immediate solution is to choose to integrate this biometric recognition system in the on / off button itself. This makes it much more accessible and easy to unlock your iPad or make purchases when you are at a payment gateway. This is something that has already been rumored in the past with different reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that last year pointed to an iPad mini between 8.5 “and 6”. The big question that remains right now is whether the panel will integrate mini-LED technology or will be for future iPad.
As stated in Mac Otakara Apple would have among its plans to launch this iPad in the month of March although the big question is how it will be done. The possibility of it being done through an online presentation event like the ones we have seen at the end of 2020 or simply through a press release is raised. What is clear is that the sales of this iPad have been very good and now Apple wants to continue giving continuity with a redesign that modernizes it.
