The notifications of our mobile are essential to know what happens, when and with what application. We can even know what is arriving without having to turn on the mobile screen, thanks to the configuration of different ringtones or even functions such as Always On Display. However, everything falls apart when we have problems with notifications , as can happen on Huawei phones with EMUI.

Whether it is when a message, a WhatsApp or any other notification from the system or from the different installed apps should reach us, the problems of not receiving it can appear at any time. There are several reasons, but before we begin to scrutinize possible causes, there are several quick adjustments that we must take into account before continuing.
Settings to fix the problem
We are facing reviews that can solve the problem quickly and that we have at hand.
Check that the mobile is not silent
We can press the volume up button to make sure or review the quick settings by sliding the notification bar.
Check that notifications can be received on mobile
We open Settings / Applications and look for the app with which we have problems. We touch on notifications and accept the permissions . If they are already activated, we must deactivate them, activate them again and try again.
Do not disturb mode
If it is activated we will not receive notifications. To check it, we must slide the quick access bar and check that this mode is not activated. Otherwise we will press to deactivate it.
Disable subtle notifications
This option can be found within Settings / Applications / Notifications and selecting the app with which we have problems. Now we must deactivate the option “Subtle Notifications” since if it is active it will silence notifications and show them only in the notification panel.

Notifications don’t vibrate or sound
It is another scenario that we face when we have problems with notifications . In this case we also have some settings that may be causing the problem.
Check tone and vibration settings
In order to check if these settings are disabled, we will have to go to Settings / Applications. Once inside we locate the app that is causing these problems and click on Notifications and change the options that are disabled by vibration and sound.
Incompatibility with themes
Third-party themes can cause problems with notifications . To clear up any doubts, we must go to the Themes application and apply one of the pre-defined ones of the system. Then we apply the changes and test if the problem has disappeared.
Incoming notifications don’t turn on the screen
It is another of the drawbacks that some users find. Notifications deemed important, such as text messages, can turn on the screen to alert the user and make it easier to read. If this does not happen we must try the following solutions.
Configure Magazine Unlock
This option allows to illuminate the screen with notifications. To do this we will have to go to Themes / Personalize / Screen lock style / Magazine Unclock. Now we activate the function and exit. The problem should be fixed.
Notifications turn on the screen
This is an option that we must also activate if we want to have this type of access to notifications. We can look in the Settings drawer “Notifications activate the screen.” In this way, when we receive new notifications, the screen will turn on and we will not lose important information.

No pop-up window appears in notifications
In this case, it is very likely that the “banners” or pop-up windows are disabled for the notifications of some applications . To check this, we will have to go to Settings / Applications and enter those from which we do not receive this type of notification. Once inside, click on Notifications and enable the pop-up windows or banners.
Nothing works
Still we have some AS up our sleeve to solve these problems with notifications
- Open the Settings menu, search in Applications for the app with which we have problems and click on Storage. Once inside, click on delete data and restart the mobile.
- We open the Settings menu and look for “Reset settings.” By choosing the option we will delete data from the device including Wi-Fi passwords and other settings that may have affected the correct functioning of notifications. All our data including photos and videos will remain intact.
