Huawei has faced in 2019 what has undoubtedly been its biggest challenge, and continues to be. The United States’ veto of Chinese companies, including Huawei, has ended up leading Google to strip their phones of Google apps and services. While the Chinese continue working to minimize this circumstance with solutions such as AppSearch .
Huawei would be working on an app designed precisely to be able to find other apps, the most important for Android, without having to install any Google app, of course we are talking about the Play Store that we all use to download apps.

AppSearch, the alternative to the Play Store?
We have heard a lot of information during the last year regarding the alternatives that Huawei has to be able to supply the lack of the Play Store in its operating system. And now as we have known at XDA, the Chinese firm would be working on an app intended to be able to search for other Android apps that we would not normally be able to find on a Huawei mobile without Google services. This app is called AppSearch and it would be a complement to the Huawei AppGallery. This new app is currently in a testing phase in Germany, where you can already search for apps without having to have Google services.

In this case, the apps can be found through this application, and are installed through HMS , Huawei’s mobile services. This app would finally solve the problem of having some of the most important apps that we use every day on Android mobiles, such as Facebook or WhatsApp . From XDA they have been able to download this app on a Huawei Mate 30 Pro, obtaining several captures of how this app in which Huawei works actually works. And from what it seems, as they have been able to extract from the code of the application itself, AppSearch would download these applications from the different repositories of apps that currently exist on the market.

From sites like the Amazon app store, APKMirror, APKMonk, APKPure or the Huawei AppGallery itself. Even if an app has an official site from where it can be downloaded, it will also be possible to download them from these places. So in reality, what this app would do would be to group apps beyond the app stores themselves. Just like right now you can go to APKMirror and download any version of an app, you can also do it from your Huawei mobile, and install them like any other Android app. This app will work similarly to any other app store, searching through different categories of applications, which are not far from most that we can see stores like the Play Store or the App Store. An ingenious way to get around the restrictions of not having Google services, and most importantly, it is a completely legitimate and legal solution for Huawei.
