Mute notifications on Android
All the customization layers, more or less hidden, have the Do Not Disturb mode setting in the same configuration app. So access the settings for your smartphone and enter the corresponding menu. Inside you will have the option to activate it, if you want to do it manually or, more practical, program it.
Choose the scheduling option and create a new normal, setting a time, for example, from 22 to 10.00 in the morning. Then, unless you want the mobile to always silence at those times, choose to only repeat this rule during today so that only notifications are silenced on Christmas Eve .
Of course, if you want, you can set exceptions and allow messages and calls from a specific contact or choose what type and format of alerts you want, and do not want, to receive tonight.
Mute notifications on iPhone
As we have said, silencing alerts on the iPhone is not that it is too different than what is done on Android. In iOS you must also open the phone’s settings panel and, at the bottom, select Do Not Disturb mode. Here we must select if we want to activate it at this very moment or, again, schedule it during a set time.
Choose the start time and the end time and make sure the scheduled mode is enabled. We also recommend checking the option “With iPhone locked” so that it does not interfere when you are using the phone.
