The physical buttons of the mobiles are still very important today, although it is said that advances are beginning to be seen about tactile buttons integrated in the curved screens, the vast majority continue to be so and their problems can bring us upside down. This time we are going to know the problems that we can find in Xiaomi with their respective solutions that allow us to continue using the smartphone.
Xiaomi’s customization layer is MIUI , which integrates several solutions in MIUI 10 onwards that will allow us not to miss these buttons as much. There are many reasons why they may have stopped working and beyond taking them to the technical service or making use of the warranty, we cannot do anything other than use Xiaomi’s tools to solve it.
Xiaomi’s power button doesn’t work
One of the main problems with the Xiaomi buttons is in the power button, without this we will not be able to do anything with our mobile and everything would become too complicated for us. Luckily for us there is a solution, we just have to pull ingenuity to get it. First of all we will have to connect the mobile to the charger and then the screen will light up, allowing us to access our mobile and follow these steps:
- We access the MIUI settings.
- Then we put the lock screen option.
- Finally, we activate a double tap on the screen to wake it up.
In this way we will be able to double tap on the screen when it is locked and it will perform the same function as the power button. On the other hand we can also activate the option to lift to activate, making sure that each time we take it from a surface, the screen turns on.
Lock the mobile from the screen
The problem after having managed to unlock it is to turn off the screen without buttons on Xiaomi, the power button will not work to turn it off either and in this case what we will do is resort to widgets that in Xiaomi have many functions to speed up processes and not have what to complicate us.
- First we pinch the main screen to enter edit mode.
- Then click on the widgets.
- Among those that do not appear in quick functions we will be the blocking one.
In this way we will be able to turn off the screen whenever necessary and we will not have to wait the time that we have assigned.
The big problem with the volume buttons
If the volume buttons are in our case the ones that do not work, we have a somewhat bigger problem than the previous ones because in MIUI we did not find any option by default, although the Google application store will help us. The option that we are going to use is called Free Volume Control and using it is very simple. We just have to install and without giving permission or anything we will be able to configure it with different sound modes. But the most interesting thing is to have these options by volume sections in the notification bar to modify them as necessary and thus forget about the problem with the buttons on Xiaomi.
Screen buttons do not work on Xiaomi
In the event that the error with the Xiaomi buttons is on the screen, we can resort to gestures or to the floating ball that facilitates our movements. The first of the options is within Settings> Additional settings> Play full screen and change the option we have.
If the floating ball is our favorite option to fix the problems with the buttons , we will only have to repeat similar steps where we go to Settings> Additional settings> Floating ball and then activate it. From your options we can select the order in which they appear to us and change them for other shortcuts. We can also choose if the floating ball will be shown all the time or if we have to slide at the end of the screen.
