The University of Chalmers, in Sweden , has developed an electronic display that could offer optimal image quality both indoors and outdoors. It is a classic that when viewing a screen outdoors we do not see it well because of the sunlight, so we have to raise the brightness of the screen a lot to be able to see the image clearly.
Therefore, a new reflective screen has been developed that offers optimal image quality and also consumes very little battery. It is also known as “electronic paper.”
The difficulties that today’s screens produce is that they use a light at the bottom of the screen to show both the letters and the images that appear on the screen, something that this new prototype would not do since it would take advantage of the light that is in the environment.

Higher image quality
Therefore, our eyes respond to the image on the screen of the same as if we were looking at an image on paper. What is sought to achieve is also to achieve maximum energy savings since in order to reproduce the images at the highest quality, only the energy of the light from the outside will be used. Therefore, this new technology also helps the environment.

Before achieving this optimal electronic paper model, it had already been possible to reflect all colors on a screen with minimal energy consumption. However, the quality of the images was not the best.
An efficient and useful system
In this way, it is expected that this new form of technology on screens will appeal to many companies that want to get hold of this system and buy it . Another of its advantages is that it is less tiring to look at , a detail that must be taken into account today since screens are widely used, either at work with a computer in our day to day with a Smartphone.
A structure was designed that inverted the colors and therefore each pixel of the image was seen with higher quality, giving itself a higher image quality in its entirety. It could even be used in big cities on screens that offer advertising. Some metals are required for its manufacture, although in small quantities , since in the end the screen is very fine.

These displays are currently available for purchase, but they only optimally reproduce black and white colors. Therefore, we must continue to wait at least a few months to be able to have this new way of seeing images at the best quality in our hands.
