Today was the day chosen by Huawei to publicize its plans for 2020 and beyond. Without a Mobile World Congress to gather the press, the company has had a streaming transmission to publicize the new Huawei Mate XS . We are facing an evolution of the folding mobile that we saw last year and that improves everything that was a kind of first experiment with the first model
The Chinese firm has had a 2019 upheaval and starts 2020 with enormous uncertainty. However, despite all the obstacles suffered due to its war with the United States , Huawei has continued with its development, wounded in its pride but reinforced . The company wants to show that there is life beyond Google. If the play goes well, they could turn it back to the tortilla and start a huge revolution that can touch Google and Android like never before.
Power and 5G
The Huawei Mate XS arrives to continue showing Huawei’s innovation in this field. The first model has not been able to demonstrate its potential due to the obstacles with Google Services. The new model is similar in conception to the Huawei Mate X last year, but with the perspective of time, which has allowed Huawei to improve its technology to make it more reliable, powerful and attractive to the general public. The terminal is committed to 5G, a standard already in the high range of 2020, which in this case comes thanks to the Kirin 990 5G processor , brand of the house. The folding is compatible with NSA and SA3 technologies, so it is prepared for the evolution of 5G, and has support for two SIM cards.

Screen and design
The terminal has a slimmer design than its predecessor. The screen also undergoes a change in its size. In this case we have a 6.38-inch screen at the back when folded, a 6.6-inch front panel and an open size in 8-inch tablet mode . Huawei has also re-designed the central hinge to make the folding experience smoother, more robust and resistant over time.
On this occasion, the company has called “Falcon Wing” the folding concept of the Mate XS. As we say, the concept remains continuous with what was seen in the first Mate X, with a compact smartphone to carry in your pocket, and a double-sized screen for work more focused on productivity.

Enhanced Cameras
Huawei has also evolved the cameras of the new Mate XS. Now, we have a quad camera with main sensor of 40 megapixels and an aperture of f / 1.8. It is accompanied by a telephoto lens of 8 megapixels f / 2.4 and an ultra wide angle of 16 megapixels f / 2.2. Huawei also boasts zoom with a 3X optical, 30X Digital and 2.5-inch macro photography.

This four camera system is signed again by Leica. Among its functions, Huawei has highlighted the Mirror Shot with double screen, which allows two people to take creative shots of double shot. The company has also highlighted the 40 megapixel sensor’s ability to capture more light and details in low light conditions.

With EMUI 10 and no Goolgle news
Huawei has talked about EMUI 10, but has not mentioned anything about Google, its services or possible developments for the Mate XS. But Huawei has highlighted App Gallery for the first time as a present and future commitment in the company . He has made it clear that just as Google Play is a final Google project on Android, or Apple‘s App Store is the same on the iPhone, they will be responsible for creating a powerful ecosystem of apps that do not depend on Google Play. For this, Huawei has highlighted the work that is doing side by side with some of the best developers in the world.

Battery and fast charge
What we do know is that the terminal arrives with a generous 4,500 mAh battery capable of charging up to 80% in just 30 minutes, thanks to its fast 55W charge. In this sense we did not find an evolution with respect to the original Mate X, which with Huawei SuperCharge 55W technology could already achieve these levels of fast charging, with the same battery capacity.

Price and release date
The presentation of the new Huawei Mate XS has lasted much less than expected, but there has been time for Huawei to announce its price and release date. The new folding will go on sale globally next month, at a price of 2,499 euros in its only version with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Its launch in Spain will occur during the third week of March, as reported by the company.
