Android Auto has become an excellent tool to use our phone in the car while driving and to do so in complete safety. For this, there is not only an app that is linked to any car, but it is no longer necessary to install it on our mobile to be able to personalize our experience of using Android Auto from the settings themselves.

If you have Android 10 , you may not have noticed that you have Android Auto integrated in your mobile, in the system settings themselves, where you can find all the Android Auto reference options without having to have the app installed.
So you can configure Android Auto from the settings
Now on Android we can find a new section within the menu of connected devices . The same place where we could find connected bluetooth devices so far, but also if we click on the ” see all ” button we can access many other settings. Now within these “connection preferences” we can see in the last place a new menu called ” Android Auto “.

Within this new menu we can customize our experience with the software adapted to our Android vehicles. All these changes in the settings will be applied when the phone is connected to some compatible info-entertainment system, or even when a bluetooth radio associated with our phone is detected. From this new section we can completely customize this entire experience and without leaving the system’s own settings.
Once inside this section we can do the following:
- Customize the apps menu: allows you to sort the apps that appear in the vehicle’s on-screen menu.
- Connected cars: from here we can manage synchronized vehicles, whether it is one or several.
- Detection of “OK Google” to be able to configure the moments in which Android Auto will react to voice commands.
- Automatically resume media: to return to playback when you start driving.
- Modify the general settings of the Google Assistant.
- Show weather information.
- Manage the notifications that Android Auto will show us when we are driving.
With all these options we will have the possibility of being able to personalize our browsing experience when we are driving our Android Auto compatible car. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to install the app to be able to access these features. Now it is only necessary to access the phone’s configuration menus from Android 10 itself, thanks to the full integration of this software in the system.
