Your Huawei may never update to EMUI 12

Those who have a Huawei mobile phone have been living in limbo for a long time, a strange situation affects them from the moment the United States decided to veto the brand and restrict access to collaboration with North American brands. Among them Google, which is why Huawei has had to look for chestnuts to develop alternative services that give life to its mobiles.

However, everything that depends exclusively on Huawei, such as updates, is also being affected and creating doubts. While Android 12 has already been presented and all the brands that work with this system take their steps to update mobile phones, Huawei remains calm without moving a tab . This leaves in doubt both those who have a Huawei mobile with Google apps and those who do not incorporate them.

Huawei may never update to EMUI 12

A plan with no way to go

We know of the existence of EMUI 12, since the customization layer was presented at the end of August, but what does not exist is an update plan. When manufacturers usually present news for their system, they do so accompanied by dates or explanations, something that Huawei has not offered.

We have been waiting since March 2021 for answers about EMUI 12 or any other update, but doubts are the only answer we can find. In that month of March the updates to EMUI 11 ended and since then new mobiles such as the high-end Huawei P50 have arrived, although without changes in software for our market.

This leads us to think that perhaps EMUI 12 is not made for us and that this update will reach other markets. The own website created by Huawei for the presentation of the last of its layers is not available in Spain and we have to locate ourselves in other European countries to see it in action. At least when it arrives, we hope that EMUI will not have past problems that affect users.

HarmonyOS on the prowl

The alternative to EMUI 12 is HarmonyOS, the update to Huawei’s new operating system that we have heard so much about and that is already being seen in Spain through tablets or smart watches such as the Huawei Watch 3. At the moment it has not landed on the continent either European and has not really left the Asian market, but considering that EMUI 12 has not finished arriving, the possibilities of seeing a massive deployment with this system, take hold.

A customization layer renewed by Huawei and an operating system that draw from the same design source, without visual changes and offering the same under another name.

HarmonyOS Huawei

We can only wait to see what happens with the election for Spain, taking into account that Google services would no longer be relevant. Even for mobiles that have Google apps as standard, they are in danger, since Huawei will prioritize HarmonyOS and its own developments. Many rumors and few certainties are those that Huawei has left us for months.
