Both iOS and Android come with default keyboards that serve their purposes well, but many users seek additional features offered by third-party keyboard apps from the App Store and Play Store.
While Google’s keyboard is known for its functionality, it lacks support for its AI, Bard. In contrast, Microsoft‘s SwiftKey keyboard has integrated support for various AI capabilities, including Bard. Recently, SwiftKey received an update that enables users not only to create text based on descriptions using BingChat but also to generate images using OpenAI’s DALL-E.
This new feature allows users to create images based on text descriptions directly from the keyboard and share them seamlessly on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, and more. While this feature is gradually rolling out to users, those with SwiftKey installed should receive it soon. To use it, make sure you have the latest version of SwiftKey from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
How to Create Images with DALL-E and SwiftKey:

- In SwiftKey, you’ll find a series of icons at the top of the keyboard, which provide access to emojis, GIFs, text pasting, translation, and more.
- The function to create images using DALL-E is available under the first icon, represented as “GIF.”
- After tapping the “Create” icon, you can type a description of the image you want to create in the lower text box.
- Wait a few seconds for the AI to generate four images based on your description.
- Select the image you like the most, and it’s ready to be shared.

It’s important to note that the image creation process should be completed within the application where you intend to share the images. Otherwise, you won’t have the option to save the images locally on your device for later use, and the process might be slower and less intuitive.
DALL-E is OpenAI’s advanced AI model for generating images, known for its improvements in understanding natural language and generating detailed images, including hands. However, certain limitations have been introduced to prevent the generation of images of famous individuals and to avoid mimicking the writing or design style of living artists, which could potentially lead to legal issues.
