Household electricity consumption has become a pressing concern, leading many families to adjust their appliance usage to take advantage of off-peak electricity rates. While various apps offer information on electricity prices, none make it as effortless as Alexa, which provides this information with a simple voice command.
As the cost of electricity continues to rise, families are increasingly searching for solutions to mitigate the impact of these frequent bill increases. Although numerous apps are available to help identify off-peak hours, there’s a more convenient option that eliminates the need for mobile interaction: Alexa.
The Amazon assistant enables us to access comprehensive information about electricity prices after configuring the Clevergy application properly.
Connecting Clevergy with Alexa
To utilize this functionality, we need to follow some initial steps to sync our user account with our Alexa profile. Once completed, we can activate voice commands and receive the information we require.
- Begin by downloading and installing the Alexa and Clevergy applications on your device. If you already have the Alexa app installed, you can skip this step.
- Log in or register in the Clevergy app. The process is straightforward and only requires basic information to begin using the app without restrictions.
- After setting up user accounts in both applications, open the Alexa app. Tap on the “More” button and proceed to “Skills and games.” Here, you’ll find the Clevergy application. Click on it, and it will provide the option to “Link account.” At this point, enter your Clevergy credentials, select your home address for the linkage, and press “Send.”

Comprehensive Control
If you’ve successfully completed the previous steps, you can now receive updates on your energy consumption using voice commands. You can activate various commands, such as “Alexa, open my energy manager,” to view the app’s general overview. Furthermore, you can request specific data over certain time periods, like “Alexa, tell me today’s energy usage” or “What was the energy consumption last month?” You can even inquire about the consumption of individual appliances.
When using voice commands from your mobile device, the app will provide the requested information audibly. However, for more detailed insights and graphical representations of your consumption, you’ll need to open the mobile app to access all the data. With devices like the Echo Show 8, you can enjoy these metrics directly from the screen without needing additional commands.
