Technology has changed the way we work and study, but at the same time it can end up becoming a problem. It is very common to procrastinate because of the mobile, since throughout the day we receive many notifications that we are unable to stop consulting or responding. Although luckily for all of us, there are remedies to avoid notifications on Android and even to block the chosen apps.
We can forget to leave the mobile in another room, as well as to turn it off. In case of need we will be available, but what we will not be for is annoying notifications from social networks and we will not feel the need to consult them manually. With this we will achieve greater performance and insurance that in studies or at work, marks a before and after for us.
Activate and configure distraction-free mode
The key piece in Android phones to ensure that nothing or nobody bothers us is within Digital Wellbeing, a key piece that since Android 10 allows us these functions on practically all Android phones. Although with the customization layers the aesthetic section may change slightly, the steps are similar in all of them.

The first thing we must do to avoid distractions during work or studies is to access Settings> Digital Wellbeing and here we will come across the so-called “Distraction Free Mode”. Once inside, we will be able to choose those options that we use the most and / or send us more notifications, choosing all of them with a simple touch.
Then it is time to activate it, either manually or we can even program it so that we do not miss a day of using it. We will choose the days of the week, as well as the start or end time.
A change that makes a difference
Once we activate this option or it starts automatically, we will be shown a home page and an application drawer with icons in gray tones. This tries to warn us that we will not be able to access the applications until the programming passes or we deactivate it. Anyway, the best solution in case of need is to slide the notification bar and tap on “Take a break.”

This option allows us to receive notifications and be able to access the applications for a short period of time that can be 5, 10 or 30 minutes. It will be the option to use for lunch or when we have to deduct for a moment from our tasks so as not to saturate ourselves.
Avoid notification sounds at work and studies
For those who only want to avoid the sound and continue to receive alerts on their mobile, this solution is better known and is called Do Not Disturb mode. As its name indicates, it offers us the option that the mobile phone does not become a nuisance due to the sounds and sometimes it is much more useful than it would be to put it completely in silence.

To activate it, you just have to go back into Settings> Digital Wellbeing and tap on “Do not disturb”. Here we can activate it manually, like from the shortcut bar, but we can also choose schedules for days and hours of the week. To make it more complete, there are a series of options that give us more possibilities.
Do not disturb mode settings
With the intention of adapting it to our needs, we must touch the “People, Applications and Alarms” sections that appear in this mode. Within each one of them, we are going to come across different customization modes, to choose interruptions in work or study hours . The options that we find are all the following:

- Persons:
- Conversations: choose conversations with people in a specific app
- Calls: allows you to choose starred contacts, manual selection of contacts, or the whole world. In addition, an option is added to make repeated calls ring.
- Messages: as with calls, we can choose prominent contacts, people or everyone.
- Applications: it will allow all or some specific notifications of the chosen applications.
- Alarms and other interruptions:
- Alarms
- Multimedia sounds
- Sounds when playing
- Reminders
- Calendar events
