Network manufacturer NETGEAR has launched new professional access points (APs) with the new Wi-Fi 6 standard . Thanks to this new standard, we can have higher wireless speed, but, above all, more efficiency and capacity per access point. With the MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies in the two frequency bands, we will have the possibility of having a higher speed globally. They have also presented new 2.5G Multigigabit switches with PoE , necessary to power the access points and that there is no bottleneck in the wired network, since the new APs with Wi-Fi 6 are capable of providing a wireless speed higher than 1Gbps real. Do you want to know the new NETGEAR models?
New professional access points with WiFi 6
The new NETGEAR access points are the WAX214 and WAX218, both are placed on the wall or on the ceiling, and are within the new Business Essentials family, where we will have other professional access points that provide very good performance and are affordable . These Aps are oriented for small and medium offices, micro-businesses and also for workers in the home. Due to its competitive price, any small business or freelancer will be able to buy it for the best wireless coverage and speed in their work environment.

These APs solve some of the typical problems in wireless WiFi networks, such as irregular connectivity, congestion in the WiFi network, limited bandwidth, connection drops, and even the complex installation that other WiFi access points have. . Next, we are going to explain in detail all the technical specifications of these new professional WiFi access points.
NETGEAR WAX214
The main features of this professional access point are the incorporation of simultaneous dual band with AX-class AX1800 Wi-Fi. In the 2.4GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 574Mbps, thanks to its two internal antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration and 40MHz channel width. In the 5GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 1,201Mbps, thanks to its two internal antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration and 80MHz channel width. This access point has a Gigabit Ethernet port to power it via Ethernet network cable, since it supports PoE.

Regarding the firmware characteristics, this line of products is managed through a user interface via web, they do not require remote administration like NETGEAR Insight, therefore, the administration is local and standalone, we do not have an access point controller Wifi. Some interesting features of its firmware is the possibility of creating up to 4 SSIDs, it supports WPA2 and WPA3 encryption.
NETGEAR WAX218
The main features of this professional access point are the incorporation of simultaneous dual band with AX-class AX3600 Wi-Fi. In the 2.4GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 574Mbps, thanks to its two internal antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration and 40MHz channel width. In the 5GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 2.402Mbps, thanks to its four internal antennas in MU-MIMO 4T4R configuration and 80MHz channel width.

This access point has a 2.5 Multigigabit Ethernet port, necessary for wireless clients to get more than 1Gbps of real connection, of course, this port also supports PoE to power it correctly. Regarding the firmware characteristics, we have exactly the same options as the previous model, we have management via local web, we do not have NETGEAR Insight, and it supports up to 4 different SSIDs and with WPA2 / WPA3 encryption.
New 2.5G Multigigabit Switches with PoE
The manufacturer NETGEAR has launched two new Multigigabit switches, the new models are the NETGEAR MS510TXM and NETGEAR MS510TXUP, two new models that incorporate 2.5G and 10G Multigigabit ports, with the aim of providing ultra-fast connectivity to the equipment that we connect to them. Both models can be managed locally, or also via NETGEAR Insight Cloud for management and monitoring from the cloud. In this way, we can configure a complete professional network from the manufacturer’s Cloud.
NETGEAR MS510TXM
The main characteristics of this manageable switch is that it incorporates a total of 4 2.5G Multigigabit ports, 4 10G Multigigabit ports, and two 10Gbps SFP + ports. This switch will provide us with a great performance, thanks to the 2.5G and 10G Multigigabit connectivity, we will not have a bottleneck in the wired links, today, this is essential to connect NAS servers and not have bottlenecks.
This specific model does not have PoE ++, so we will not be able to power professional WiFi access points or IP cameras.
The firmware incorporates a graphical user interface for administration, making it extremely easy for users to configure it. Of course, this equipment has the main L2 + functionalities, such as configuring VLANs, QoS, Link Aggregation, Spanning-Tree Protocol and many other typical L2 protocols. Other interesting characteristics is that it incorporates L3 static routing with up to 32 routes, both for IPv4 and IPv6 networks, therefore, we will have inter-vlan routing in the switch itself.
NETGEAR MS510TXUP
The main characteristics of this manageable switch is that it incorporates a total of 4 2.5G Multigigabit ports, 4 10G Multigigabit ports, and two 10Gbps SFP + ports. This switch will provide us with a great performance, thanks to the 2.5G and 10G Multigigabit connectivity, we will not have a bottleneck in the wired links, today, this is essential to connect WiFi 6 access points to avoid bottlenecks due to wired connectivity. All Ethernet ports are PoE + and also PoE ++ with up to 60W per port, in addition, this model offers us a PoE power of 295W.

Regarding the firmware of this model, we have exactly the same characteristics as the previous one, since they belong to the same family, but one does have PoE ++ and another does not have any port with PoE.
