Our Android mobile is full of functions to facilitate the user experience. In addition, many of them are within the “Accessibility” section as it is more intended to facilitate handling for people with visual problems, although anyone can take advantage of their options and adapt them to their daily use.
One of the most important, allows us to expand the selected content to better see the screen if necessary. Our mobile already allows us to zoom or enlarge text without having to activate anything, but we can have a trick to enhance this useful function. In this way we will make the zoom options that we may need at any given time more complete, either in web browsing or in different applications on the device. Luckily, once again, the accessibility options, present in all Andorid mobiles, whatever layer they have, come to our aid.
How to activate the “Extension”
To activate the function we have to go to the Settings menu and tap on the “Extension” option . In this way, we can zoom in or out on images by pressing three consecutive times on the screen. Once the image has been enlarged we will have three options available to enhance what we need to see.
Three basic functions
- Scroll : we can slide two or more fingers on the screen to navigate the enlarged area.
- Adjust the Zoom : we can also pinch the screen with two or more fingers to zoom. The screen can be enlarged up to eight times.
- Enlarge a section : by tapping three times on the screen and holding it the third time. In this way we will have a closer view of the selected area. This option will not work for the keyboard or the navigation bar.
To consider
When we have activated the Magnification option, we will experience a bit of delay in the individual touches. This delay we can notice in the response time of Telephone, the Calculator or other types of applications. In this way, the mobile can know if the touch is intended to be a series of three. Also, when you open an application or close it while the content is expanded, it will be automatically reduced. To expand content again, we will have to touch the screen three times again. Many users combine this function with the “Font size” function, which is also available in the accessibility options and which allows viewing larger texts.
