Little by little, Realme is coming of age with its phones, not only because it is already one of the preferred brands in the mid-range, but because its customization layer, Realme UI , already has a second version based on Android 11 . It is precisely there where you can enjoy the new sleep capsule.
Our mobiles have a well differentiated use between day and night, except in exceptional cases, since in this last period it is normal that we use the telephone much less. And precisely for those occasions, Realme has created an experimental functionality that seeks to optimize the use of the terminal at those times.
What is the sleep capsule for?
Well, basically we are facing a new feature of Realme mobiles that wants to give us a better rest every day. As you know, most of us also use our phones in bed, before going to sleep. And with few exceptions, the normal thing is that the use of the device in bed implies some alterations in our sleep, which are basically produced in turn by alterations in circadian rhythms. There are many tools to avoid these types of problems, some already come from the factory with Android thanks to its digital well-being settings.

Let’s say this would be an application perfectly compatible with those Google options. As you know, with them we can deactivate some phone services at a certain time and even turn the screen to black and white to avoid continuing to use the phone at a certain time and somehow inviting us to stop doing it. Well, the objective of the sleep capsule is the same, although it focuses on a single aspect of using the phone, its applications. The main objective of this Realme sleep capsule is to veto the use of certain applications , especially those that are not essential, from a certain time every night . Therefore, what this app will avoid is that from a certain time every night we can use some apps that we do not need and that will not do our sleep well. Such as a game, YouTube, or social networks.

The objective is that these are not used after a certain time at night. In addition, Realme has wants us to commit to using this sleep capsule, let us also do it assuming its use for real, so once we activate it, we will only have three options per month to cancel its use or deliberately skip it. So it is something that we must ask ourselves especially if we want to activate.
How to activate and configure it?
Well, we are talking about a functionality that at the moment is exclusive to Realme mobiles with Android 11 , which for now are very few. Therefore, it is a functionality that comes with Realme UI 2.0, and that can actually be called experimental. Since this is within the “Realme Lab” which by the way now has already Spanishized its name by ” Realme laboratory ”

This is a section where from time to time Realme phones add different experimental functionalities. Some that we have known so far are those of the Superstandby mode, the uniform screen scrolling or the DC Dimming. Well, now to these is added the dream capsule. In order to use it, we must do the following, as long as our mobile has Android 11:
- Open the settings
- Swipe the screen to the end
- Click on “Realme Lab”
- Select the option “Sleep Capsule”
Well, now we have different options to configure this sleep capsule to our liking, and remember that the main objective of doing so is not to use certain apps after a certain time at night. What we must do is click on the slider next to the time, then a new window will appear in which we will have to confirm our choice, in which we are warned that it will not be possible to go back or omit this function no more than three times per month , so we have to think very well if we activate it.

Therefore, beyond the choice of the time at which the sleep capsule begins and ends, and how many times it is going to be repeated, for example once in a specific way, on a certain day of each week, or during all the days of the month. The most important choice is to select the apps that will be available during the sleep capsule. It is something that we can customize by clicking on ” List of allowed applications ” in which we are by default selected the most essential, such as messages, Google Maps, WhatsApp, Gmail, settings or the calendar.

There we will therefore select the apps that are accessible or not when the capsule is activated. Finally, at the bottom of this section, we will see a “banner” showing the number of nights we have slept early this month. When we press we will see the banner in full screen, and at the bottom a “Share” button so that other people can witness our progress, even in the upper right we will have the possibility of downloading an image with the current progression and the number of nights we have been without apps.
