There are many features of Apple Maps that make it an excellent navigation app for the iPhone, despite the fact that its beginnings in 2012 were not exactly hopeful. However, there are some functionalities that if they have competitors such as Waze or Google Maps and that the Apple app has not yet integrated and that we believe could be very interesting to see in the future. Will they arrive with iOS 15?
Improvements we expect in Apple Maps
Apple’s software news, including apps like these, are unpredictable because they are always highly secret projects in which only agents from Apple Park itself participate, reducing the possibility of leaks. There is no evidence yet about the possible novelties of this app in iOS 15, but surely these five would be very well received if they ended up arriving at some point.

1. More information about establishments
Either from its search engine or from its Maps app, Google stands out for offering very complete information on establishments. From phone numbers, hours to photos and customer reviews. In Apple Maps it is true that these fields exist, but unfortunately in countries like Spain they do not enjoy the same popularity and there is not as much information available to the user. Not to mention that there are certain establishments that do not even appear in the Apple app. And although in the end it is something that also depends on users more than Apple, in some territories we feel that this function does not exist for those reasons.
2. A street view for all places
It is true that not even Google reaches everyone, since there will always be corners unexplored for legal issues or any other reason. However, it is known that the street map of this app works in much of the world, while in Apple Maps they have been developing it for years and at the moment it cannot be enjoyed in much of the world, so it is still a weak point.

3. Routes with intermediate stops
One of the most interesting functions that Apple Maps could support is to be able to establish a route from one point to another, with some intermediate stop already predetermined. For example, a car trip from Madrid to Barcelona with a stop in Zaragoza, so that it can guide you in the best way to that intermediate point, taking into account that you must then leave for Barcelona.
4. Lane recommendation
The popular Waze has an interesting functionality during road routes in which the lane in which you must position yourself is indicated in order to be able to take the exit better when you have to. Obviously Apple Maps tells you which exit you should take and offers directions on the direction, but being able to previously have visual information on the number of existing lanes and where you should be is something that it has not implemented and would be very interesting.

5. Download maps for use without internet
Last but not least, this functionality is one of the most interesting and it does not seem complicated to implement. Google and Waze allow the download of maps offline in such a way that they can be used later without the need to connect to the internet or with zero consumption of mobile data. While it is true that the Apple app consumes little data in its execution, this would be even better by reducing it completely.
