When we talk about Pocophone we automatically think of the Xiaomi brand. This is so because from the beginning both companies have worked together to offer different mobile phones. LITTLE needed the help of his partner to carry out the manufacture of these, although not so much anymore…
A little over a year ago, POCO announced its conversion into an independent brand . There are many users who do not understand this movement in its entirety, since they do not know the reasons that have led to this decision and if it will affect them as consumers.
Independence in quotes
This fact is somewhat confusing, since if one enters the Xiaomi website, they will notice that POCO products continue to appear. This issue is easily resolved thanks to the explanations provided by Xiaomi itself: “Since the brand is new, from Xiaomi we will continue to share certain resources with them , such as the manufacturing chain, quality control or post-sale support” .

The reason for the separation is that POCO will now have more freedom when it comes to manufacturing mobile devices. That is to say, it will not depend entirely on Xiaomi for it and will be able to focus on offering smartphones to its target audience as they want without anyone getting involved. However, they will depend on it for other aspects such as those mentioned in the previous paragraph, so it is not total independence. In fact, they will continue to have some functions that can be found in other terminals of the one that was their companion, such as the ability to measure the steps you walk.
Price increase?
Faced with this decision, many wonder if there will be a price increase for POCO devices, but there is nothing to fear . The company’s philosophy is the same as that of its former partner: to offer powerful terminals at affordable prices.

In fact, Alvin Tse, who was CEO of Pocophone a few years ago, stated that: “If we can offer something compelling enough at a price that nobody had imagined until now , suddenly many people will show an interest in the technology.”
In the event that there is an increase in costs for the user, this is mainly due to the shortage of chips that is weighing down the technology market. But, as regards the Chinese company, they will continue with the same methodology and have even confirmed that one of the new objectives of the brand is “to expand the product catalog.” So we will have to follow POCO closely to see how surprising it is.
