It is one of the most important releases of the year for PlayStation since it is the second game of that reboot that God of War suffered in 2018 when a certain Cory Barlog (from Santa Monica Studios) took over the old PS2 releases and PS3 to direct a true masterpiece. That unexpected turn for many was a breath of fresh air and an entrance through the big door in the current panorama of exclusive Sony hits.
God of War Ragnarok is out now
The fact is that since November 8, 2022, God of War Ragnarok is already available to all the lucky ones who have a PS5 or a PS4 , in what is the umpteenth demonstration of the power of Sony, a company that no matter how much Let’s throw things in his face, he knows how to seduce gamers with his excellent collection of exclusives. Now, since this year, the franchise starring Kratos is not limited to just entertaining us on consoles since it made the leap to PC last January 2022.
Precisely, that premiere of God of War Ragnarok on consoles has caused a tsunami of users who are anxiously asking when they will be able to enjoy it on their computers and, here, we have to give you some bad news: despite Sony’s obvious collaboration with Steam or Epic Games Store, for the moment the Japanese have not wanted to cloud what is one of the great exclusive bets of their machines and they are not going to distract potential buyers with siren songs from other playable shores.
So without officially knowing the release date, is it possible to guess when such an event will happen? We have enough clues to get a pretty good idea just by looking at what’s been going on over the last two years.
The key is in other exclusives
Indeed, now we are going to act as fortune tellers but in the style of the old wise men who looked at the stars. Here, those constellations have other names that, coincidentally, were also exclusive until they landed in the guts of PC. We are talking about the first God of War , from Death Strinding. from Spider-Man , Days Gone , Detroit Become Human or the most recent Uncharted Collection The Thief’s Legacy .

If we trust the data of the first God of War , we would have to wait almost four years until we have Ragnarok on PC, that is, around August 2026. It seems too long so it is better to look at the case of other PS4 titles and PS5 that hit stores in 2019 or 2020, when that avalanche of releases for computers by the Japanese really begins.
Thus Death Strading barely had to wait a year in workshops to land in PC stores, while Spider-Man Miles Morales has been another of those who have barely taken 12 months to cross the sidewalk. What can that mean? Well, basically, once Sony has verified that the bet on computers is giving good results and that users have not stopped perceiving these franchises as exclusive to PlayStation compared to Xbox, bringing these developments faster to computers does not affect to your overall strategy. What’s more, the more modern the release, the less time it takes to convert it to compatibility.
What date do we opt for then? If we had to bet a penny, we would risk saying that within a year God of War Ragnarok will be ready on PC, even a little earlier, maybe before the summer? At the latest by early 2024… although nothing seems to even point to this possibility.
