There is very little left for the new installment of God of War to reach stores around the world, and there are many who, in addition to reading Nordic culture, are preparing their thumbs to be able to distribute whips left and right. With the potential of PS5, the game shows ways to be visually outrageous , but you should know that, like other Sony titles, you can adjust the graphics to obtain different visual aspects.
Six graphic modes for Ragnarok

If you have a brand new PS5, you will be able to play God of War in several ways (graphically speaking) since in the game settings you can define if you want the maximum fidelity or if you prefer the best possible performance . This results in the following settings:
- Performance : The resolution will move between 1440p and 2160p and will always seek to reach 60 images per second.
- HFR performance : At a fixed resolution of 1440p, the frame rate will run freely in excess of 60 FPS at times.
- Performance with HFR and VRR : The same mode as the previous one, but including a variable refresh rate, which allows you to adjust lower refresh rates at certain times and synchronize with your Smart TV.
- Quality : Play in glorious 4K with a target rate of 30 frames per second.
- Quality with HFR : The resolution will adjust between 1800p and 2160p with a target of 40 images per second.
- Quality with HFR and VRR : Again variable resolution with the idea of being able to exceed 40 FPS at key moments.

Don’t forget your PS4

Users who are going to play God of War Ragnarok on PS4 will also have various graphic configuration modes, especially on PS4 Pro, a console that will take more advantage of the game. The settings are as follows:
- Performance (for PS4 Pro): Variable resolutions between 1080p and 1656p with a rate that will exceed 30 images per second.
- Quality (for PS4 Pro): Variable resolutions between 1440p and 1656p with a goal of 30 images per second.
- Standard (PS4): On PS4 there will be no adjustments. The game will run at 1080p with a target of 30 FPS. It will be the only way to play God of War Ragnarok in the normal version of the previous generation.
What happened to 120 FPS?
No, God of War will not have a 120 FPS mode. It is something that obviously sounded too crazy, but remembering the promises promised by the new generation of consoles, perhaps many had made the idea in their heads. The game will run in native 4K at a maximum frame rate of 30 frames per second , and will only hit 60 FPS when the resolution is adaptive or locked at 1440p.
This is something normal considering the graphic barbarities that the game presents (reviews assure that it takes PS5 to its maximum level) but it reminds again that the new generation continues to leave an aftertaste of an improvable product, where new hardware (PS5? Pro?) with 4K resolution at 60 FPS would be the least a user could expect today. But let’s leave the numbers and enjoy the game, which seems to be really crazy.
