Very serious screen problems in the Google Pixel 6

The latest and greatest from Google is once again in the spotlight, obviously for reasons users don’t like too much. Launched in October of last year, the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro are becoming two of the mobiles that are presenting the most failures and that accumulate the most complaints from those who have bought them, as is now the case with the screen of the terminals.

If during these past days that has been seen as some connectivity or battery failures appeared on the phones, now it is the turn of the mobile panel. In recent days, a dead pixel problem has begun to spread on the Pixel 6 screen, the first appearances of which date back to the beginning of the year. In some cases, it appears just behind the front camera, while others say that it is in the upper right corner of the mobile screen.

Those affected, as you can imagine, are not at all happy with the brand and wonder if it is a software or hardware problem .

I have a Pixel 6 Pro. Recently a black dot has appeared that is about the same size as my front camera and overlaps the camera dot. Is growing. I just updated my software and it didn’t help me. I uninstalled recent apps and rebooted, no solution. I am avoiding doing a factory reset while away from home. Any other idea?

I just factory reset my P6 Pro. Once everything booted up, I immediately noticed a black dot on the top right corner of my screen. It’s almost like the screen is cut off. I have seen other threads that the camera cutout on the screen was misaligned resulting in black areas around the front camera. Maybe this is a similar problem. It definitely wasn’t there before the factory reset.

Hardware or software problem?

If you are one of those affected, calm down, for now it will not be necessary for you to change the mobile screen because, apparently, it is not broken.

Some have tried to factory reset their phone and uninstall third party apps but the problem persists. However, the fact that it appears after resetting the smartphone makes us think that the fault is in the software , not in the internal components of the phone. In fact, it seems that one of the solutions is to update the smartphone to the latest version of the Google operating system, as reported by some of those affected by the problem of dead threads in the Google Pixel.

My black dot issue was resolved in a recent software update. I no longer have any problems.

The downside is that some others claim that the black spot even grows in size , resulting in more dead pixels even after applying software updates.

With this scenario, the only thing you can do is wait for Google to rule on the matter and release an update that fixes the bug or, if you get tired of waiting, contact the manufacturer to find a solution to the problem.
