The launch of MIUI 15, the latest version of Xiaomi‘s customization layer for their mobile phones, including Redmi and POCO models, is still quite distant. The first glimpse of the update is not expected until the end of the year, and its arrival in Spain will be further delayed by a few more months. Despite this, some features of the update are already available for users to enjoy, with notable improvements found in the camera app.
Typically, every smartphone comes with a default photo-taking application developed by the manufacturer. Xiaomi’s camera app is particularly popular due to its numerous hidden functions, especially for those using the latest Xiaomi 13 series with a Leica camera. The good news is that even before MIUI 15’s full release, you can get a head start by conveniently downloading the improved camera app to your mobile device.

Download the MIUI 15 camera app
The MIUI 15 camera application for Xiaomi introduces a significant interface redesign as its key feature, aimed at enhancing its appeal and user-friendliness. Notably, the different options now appear in a drop-down window that spans the entire width of the screen with a touch of transparency, providing a more engaging and intuitive experience. Additionally, the adjustment controls have been moved inside the drop-down window instead of being located in the upper corner.
Another notable improvement is the redesigned zoom slider, which offers more precise control over the lens magnification. This enhancement promises to deliver better image quality for distant objects, resulting in improved overall performance for the MIUI 15 camera application.

It’s worth mentioning that this version of the camera app is currently compatible only with Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones that will update to MIUI 15. This includes models released after Xiaomi 11, Redmi Note 10, and POCO F3, as indicated by a leaked list (unconfirmed by the Chinese company). The app is designed to work on devices running Android 13 and Android 14 or later.
However, users should exercise caution as some malfunctions may occur since it is not the official app that comes with the update. Despite this, the camera application seems to be well-optimized, and during testing, no major issues were noticed. As the final launch in Spain approaches, Xiaomi will likely make further refinements and improvements to ensure the camera app on their mobile phones stands out.
There is also the super clipboard
One of the other noteworthy features available in MIUI 15 is the “Super Clipboard,” offering a faster and more efficient way to manage copied text on your Xiaomi mobile device. When you copy text, this function opens a small window displaying the copied content, enabling you to easily transfer it to another application, even when using split-screen mode.

While the official release of MIUI 15 is expected in December, you don’t have to wait until then to enjoy this feature. It’s currently the only option available to access these advanced clipboard capabilities, allowing you to stay ahead and make the most of this functionality before the new version arrives.
