The mobile phone has become an almost essential object for many of us, despite the galloping economic crisis in which we are entering. And today we echo a survey that has explored the reasons why users change their phone , in addition to the time it takes to do so.
And it is that there are many factors that influence us when buying a mobile phone, we are not only talking about money, but about the characteristics it has, as well as the socio-economic level of the users. A compendium of factors that are better understood as follows. Thanks to this survey by IO Research , through its division of consumer sociological studies, IOSondea, we can get a better idea of the reasons for changing smartphones .

Why do we change smartphones?
In this study carried out by IO Research , respondents were asked about the reasons that led them to change their mobile phone. And the results are quite enlightening, since depending on the sex of the person there are different compelling reasons to take the step and change it. The survey highlights that the value for money is the main factor of change . In the case of men, one of the key aspects is the processor, having the possibility of having a larger phone, while women give more importance to the camera, also in similar proportions. Some reasons that are losing weight in both sexes as they get older, with a minimal rebound interest in the camera on the part of older women.

Another important factor when choosing a new mobile, and the reason why we can abandon our previous terminal, is to improve the battery . When it comes to price, it is a more important factor for men although by little difference. While in the age range, the older the consumer, the more importance is given to this aspect, with the 55 to 65 age group being the one that worries the most about the price of the device.
What encourages us to choose the new smartphone?
We may be clear about the characteristics in which we want our mobile to improve, but there are other factors that at a given moment can push us to decide on a certain terminal. The first reason that leads us to decide is for the relationship between quality and price of the terminal, this is an essential aspect for the majority of respondents.

But it also influences having found a good offer, which offers better features and finally the terminal for the price. When it comes to changing mobile, most of those surveyed also tend to change brand, 58.56% compared to 41.44%.
When do we change mobile?
This survey also wanted to know how often we change phones. And the results reveal that the preferred interval to change mobile phones is between three and four years , chosen by 44.41% of users, followed by the interval between the first and second year, chosen by 34.11%. Obviously users who change it in the first year or less are the exception. Therefore, we could extract from this graph that the key moment in which we consider the change is between the second and third year of having the telephone.

How do we pay for it?
This is another of the key questions in the survey, and here the majority of people who do it with a single payment is overwhelming, 74.80% of the total. 25% of users pay their mobile in installments .

This data is relevant, because if three-quarters of those surveyed pay for the mobile phone at once, it is because the cost of these is probably not exorbitant, especially speaking of the entry and average range. It can be understood that when financing, the majority of 24 months is chosen, since it is the minimum time that we estimate that the phone will last us.
