TaskExplorer: alternative to the Windows 10 Task Manager

taskexplorerWindows Task Manager is one of the most useful operating system administration tools on a day-to-day basis. Thanks to it, we can control all the processes that are running on our computer, know in detail what our resources are consuming and, in case any program is blocked, we can force its closure from it.

In addition, we can also know information about our hardware and all the resources of our PC. Although this Task Manager is not bad, there are many aspects of it that can be improved. And therefore, there are interesting alternatives designed to take more advantage of this tool on our PC, as is the case of TaskExplorer.

TaskExplorer is probably one of the most complete alternatives to the Windows 10 Task Manager. This program is completely free and open source, and, in addition to offering us the same as the Microsoft tool, its functions go even further.

Some of the main features of this program are:

  • Monitor the activity of all running processes.
  • The user interface is simple and focuses on displaying data in real time.
  • The panels are always at hand, one or two clicks away. It does not open windows to display additional information.
  • It allows you to see detailed information on all processes, open connections, hardware status, etc.

This program is completely free and open source . Its source code is available to anyone who wants to review it. If we want to download it, we can do it from the following link .

How TaskExplorer works

Once downloaded we execute the program file. This will allow us to choose if we want to install it on the computer, or extract it for portable use. Once we have installed, or removed the task manager, we will execute it.

Surely the first time we run the program we can think that the interface is a bit chaotic. Although we will get to her very soon.

As we can see, the main interface has a large number of rows, columns and tabs. And within each section we can find different information related to our system. At the top we will be able to see, in addition to the program menus, a series of graphics on the performance of our computer and a summary of the processes that are running.

We will also be able to find, on the left side, the typical list with all the processes that are running, along with their icons, their types, status, PID and much more. The second column has a horizontal scroll that will allow us to scroll through all the information.

On the right side we will find a series of sections, separated in tabs, in which we can see detailed information about our operating system. Specifically about our hardware. For example, we will be able to see in detail the use of our CPU, RAM, CPU, network cards, etc.

And finally, the section in the lower right part of the window allows us to know all the information of each process that we select.

Do you want to know everything about your PC? Use TaskExplorer

The Windows 10 Task Manager is fine. And for most users it will certainly be more than enough. But it never hurts to have on hand other alternatives that allow us to have much more control over our system and all processes. And this is where TaskExplorer comes into play .

This task manager is clearly focused on advanced users, and although it is relatively simple to use and understand, and allows us to always have everything at hand, if we want to take full advantage of it and not get lost among its countless functions, it is best to make your window as large as possible so that all menus and all tools enter.

If you are looking for a powerful Task Manager, with more features than Windows, simple to use and in addition to open source, TaskExplorer will surely surprise you.
