Spam calls are our daily bread for many people in all parts of the world. It is normal to see a number and doubt its origin, since in many cases they are numbers belonging to normal mobiles and they do not make us suspect that we are dealing with a commercial call or any type of unwanted communication. Samsung has decided to remedy it with an intelligent function to automatically block these types of calls.

Not so long ago, it was necessary to download a third-party app to try to identify and block all unwanted calls. However, Samsung has long been committed to the privacy of its users, thanks to the Smart Call function, which will now be improved and will be integrated into more devices.
Extended Smart Call feature
Remember that Smart Call allows you to know who is calling us even if it is not a number that appears in the contact list. In addition, if it is a fraudulent or spam call , we can block that number and proceed to report it without responding to any call or message. This problem is widespread in countries such as the United States, where it is common to suffer harassment from automated dialers, generally related to tele-marketing.

Real-time information
Now, Samsung has announced an agreement with the Hiya company, specialized in monitoring all these types of fraudulent calls. Now the Galaxy Note 20 and other older Samsung flagships will integrate a new function for Smart Call, which will detect in real time and block all calls identified as fraudulent. To do this, Samsung will use Hiya’s infrastructure in the cloud to automatically block all this type of telephone spam. The function will offer information in real time about the company that is calling , the logo and the reason for the call, even without having the number memorized in the phonebook. This is a measure that also seeks not to harm the legitimate services that may be offered over the telephone, but always keeping the information for the user ahead of him, who can decide before picking up the terminal.
Remember that Google has already implemented a similar function in its Pixels. Most users tend to send these types of calls to the black lists or “Black List” , or download third-party anti-spam applications, which in many cases are almost more dangerous than the fraudulent or spam calls themselves. Samsung’s step may open the door for other manufacturers to dare to implement similar technologies.
