Little by little, Realme is expanding the portfolio of terminals in Spain. The new 2020 launches keep happening, which begins to provoke the usual doubts: did I buy last year’s model at a better price or the new one a little more expensive? It is not easy to decide between any of its terminals, such as the realme 5 Pro and the new realme 6.
For this reason we wanted to make a comparison between both terminals. The two have several points in common, but also key differences that could determine the purchase towards one or the other model. Let’s see both terminals in detail to see their main differences and advantages of one over the other.
Difference on screens
The first thing we see is that the screen of the realme 5 Pro is somewhat more compact, with its 6.3 inches, compared to the 6.5 inches of the realme 6. Both terminals maintain a FullHD + resolution, but there is an important aesthetic difference. We are referring to the “notch” that realme 5 Pro sports, while realme 6 already incorporates a hole in the screen, more in line with the 2020 trend. One of the great advantages of realme 6 is that it can reach a rate of 90 Hz refresh.
Processor and memory
When we lift the hood of both devices, we also find an important difference. The realme 5 Pro integrates the Snapdragon 712, while the realme 6 integrates the Helio G90T. We are facing two rival processors, mid-range and focused on performing correctly in games.
If we consider the results of both terminals in the famous AnTuTu performance program, the realme 5 Pro has reached 220,000 points, while the realme 6 has exceeded 290,000. Both terminals reach a maximum of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, both with UFS 2.1 reading technology. The good news is that the two phones can expand their internal memory using microSD cards.
Rear cameras and selfie
Turning them around, we found four rear cameras in both the realme 5 Pro and the realme 6, but with notable differences. In the realme 5 Pro we find a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel wide angle and 2-megapixel depth and macro sensors. For its part, the realme 6 has a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel wide angle and two 2-megapixel depth and macro sensors.
As for the front sensor, in the realme 5 Pro we find it housed in a notch in the form of a drop, while in the realme 6 it is integrated into a hole in the upper left of the screen. In both terminals, this sensor is 16 megapixels
Connections and battery
We found the main wireless connections in both terminals, but only realme 6 has NFC , which gives it an advantage in mobile payments. In addition, realme 6 has already been born with realme UI based on Android 10, another advantage for future updates and its more than likely arrival at Android 12. Realme 5 for its part, although it will be updated, it is possible that it will remain one version behind his older brother.
The battery is another aspect to consider between both terminals. The realme 5 Pro reaches 4,035 mAh with 20W fast charge, while the realme 6 reaches 4,300 mAh and its fast charge increases to 30W.
Which one to buy?
At the moment we can buy a realme 5 Pro, in its 8 GB version of RAM for 219 euros , while the realme 6 in the same capacity currently costs 275 euros . We are facing a difference of 56 euros, which puts the balance in favor of Realme 6. For this difference we will have a better screen, processor, battery, cameras and more durable updates over time. If our goal is maximum savings, the realme 5 Pro is an excellent terminal, but the passage of time will better respect the realme 6.
