To keep our security and privacy safe on the Internet, nothing is as important as a good password. It is also recommended that for each account we have we have a different password, which causes it to be difficult to remember. To help us with this work, there are password managers, such as Password Safe , which we are going to talk about today.
Password Safe is what is known as a password manager, a tool with which we can reliably manage all the passwords we have on the network. Either from our email accounts, websites, forums or even from our banks. This application allows us to create a secure and encrypted list of users and passwords . It will only be necessary to create a single “master password” to unlock and access our list of passwords.

The account with our passwords that we believe will be strongly protected by an AES 256-bit encryption, along with the Twofish algorithm, being compatible with AES-KDF, used by KeePass, so that no one else can access it. Each user input can be assigned a group with which we can more quickly locate an account with its corresponding password. Its characteristics will allow us to generate, store, organize, recover and use new complex passwords that only we can control.
As a good password manager, it allows us the possibility of generating our own random and secure passwords, being able to configure different parameters such as length, symbols, capital letters, among others. In addition, it is an extremely light application that hardly needs resources to function, which means that it can be used even on old and not very powerful computers.
Password Safe generates and stores password safely
Once we have run the application, the complete configuration is carried out in a matter of seconds, without the need for a manual to learn how to use the program. Just click on the “New” button to bring up your main menu where we can create our first database.

Once in the main menu we must click on the button “Create a new database” where we must create our master password that will be the only one we must remember. This password must have at least 8 characters and a minimum of one capital letter. Once we have created our first database, we can start adding users and passwords.

To do this we will have to go to the “Edit” tab and select “Add an entry”, where we must complete all the data, being able to create multiple databases, groups and almost anything else that we can expect from a password manager. Each entry must have at least one title and one password .

Those users with more advanced knowledge have several options that allow us to customize the application, which will be very useful once we have become familiar with it and its main features. From the “Tools” tab we can “Make a backup” to keep our copy safe from any unforeseen event.

Within the “Tools” section, we also find the “Generate password” section that allows us to establish random password generation rules. We can set the length, the use of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. Once finished, click on Generate to obtain a random password that we can copy to the clipboard by clicking on the key-shaped icon.

Conclusions.
If we are looking for a password manager, Password Safe is an option to take into account. It is an easy-to-use program, especially compared to other software of its competition, it is safe and stable, without requiring a large amount of resources to function, which means that it can be used in older computers. All our data is kept safe because it is not stored on any server on the Internet , but is protected within the program that has 256-bit AES protection, along with the Twofish algorithm. In addition, it has a portable version, so that we can always carry them with us on any pendrive and run it on any computer. Few weak points can be found in this application, beyond the lack of official integration with browsers, as well as the lack of add-ons
