As every time a new generation of smartphones hits the market, on our site we like to look back and compare it with the generation of the previous year. On many occasions we see that the changes have been very notable, while in others we see that it is not the case and even a step backwards has been taken in some technical attributes . Will it be like this with the OPPO Find X3 Pro and Find X2 Pro? Let’s get out of doubt.
OPPO’s official arrival in Spain officially took place at the beginning of 2019. Since then, the company has put some more than interesting terminals into circulation, such as last year’s Find X2 Pro. The bar is very high, but the advancement in smartphones does not stop and the Find X3 comes to improve some of its features.
Screen, weight and thickness
The first thing that catches our attention is the screen of both terminals, since both generations maintain the same size of 6.67 inches. The two panels are AMOLED, compatible with HDR10 + and have a refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, the OPPO Find X3 Pro comes with LPTO technology (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxid, its name in English), which manages to save more energy, offering a variable refresh rate.

There are two curious aspects, the first is that the resolution is slightly higher in the new model, with its 1440 x 3210 pixels, compared to the 1440 x 3168 pixels of the Find X2 Pro. In addition, the density of pixels per inch is also higher in the Find X3 Pro with 525pp versus 513 dpi. However, it is striking that the Find X2 Pro maintains a higher screen / frame ratio with 90.9% of the front used by the screen, compared to 89.6% of the new model. It is also curious that the Find X3 Pro is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 compared to the Gorilla Glass 6 glass of the Find X2 Pro.
Regarding weight and thickness, we must applaud OPPO that once again has made its flagship a thinner and lighter mobile, with its 8.3 millimeters and 193 grams of weight, compared to the 8.8 millimeters and 217 grams of the previous generation. .
All the power of Snapdragon
When lifting the hood we find plenty of power in both terminals, but the logical improvements over time in the Find X3 Pro with the Snapdragon 888, compared to the Snapdragon 865 of the Find X2 Pro . Once again we see a curious decision in OPPO, since the Find X3 Pro arrives with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, while the Find X2 Pro has the same RAM but a version with 512 GB of storage. In neither case is it expandable, counting the Find X3 Pro with the UFS 3.1 standard compared to the UFS 3.0 of the Find X2 Pro.
If we translate this configuration into performance on paper, we will have to use the results of both terminals in a performance program such as AnTuTu. In this benchmark program, last year’s Find X2 Pro has passed 605,000 points, but the new model reaches 710,000. On a day-to-day basis, both are left over with any task or game that lies ahead of them, but it is logical that all the muscle is on the side of the Find X3 Pro.

There are improvements in the cameras
There are changes at the photographic level, but not those that make you open your eyes with great amazement. Recall that the Find X2 Pro set the bar very high. However, the Find X3 Pro has a larger main sensor that captures more light than its predecessor, with 50 megapixels accompanied by a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 3-megapixel macro sensor for Capture close-up shots in more detail than ever before. The Find X2 Pro sports two 48-megapixel ultra-wide and wide-angle sensors, as well as a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. On the front, they both keep a 32 megapixel sensor housed in the front hole.
There is no major jump in recording capabilities. We could have expected that the Find X3 Pro already offered the possibility of recording in 8K like some of its rivals, but it does not and it maintains the maximum recording in 4K, just like the Find X2 Pro.

How could it be otherwise, we are facing two terminals compatible with 5G and lacking a 3.5mm jack for headphones. Both have Bluetooth 5, NFC, a fingerprint sensor and USB-C. The battery has grown in the Find X3 Pro to 4,500 mAh, compared to 4,260 mAh in the Find X2 Pro. Both have 65W SuperVOOC 2.2 technology , which manages to charge 40% of the device in about 10 minutes. The Find X3 Pro was born with ColorOS, but it is a version of the OPPO layer that the Find X2 Pro already enjoys, based on Android 11.
The prices
We have seen some logical improvements at the processor level or even in battery capacity. But perhaps, these differences do not compensate for the price difference between the two devices right now, for anyone who wants to buy a high-end and hesitate between the two models. Right now we find an OPPO Find X2 Pro on Amazon for 799 euros with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The Find X3 Pro is priced at 1,169 euros, which is 370 euros of difference between the two.
