Motorola: How to Manually Update the Mobile

The updates that reach our mobile do not imply any technical knowledge or special method for their installation. Just accept the notice, download and install. However, there is an alternative method when we have problems updating the software of our Motorola or there are other serious problems, such as the terminal not turning on.

Motorola: How to Manually Update the Mobile

Performing a manual update on a Motorola mobile is a slower and more cumbersome method, for that reason, it makes sense when there is a problem that prevents us from updating from our mobile. In order to do this, Motorola has the Recovery tool and Smart Assistant.

Manual software installation on Motorola

As we said, if the mobile does not turn on, has serious software problems or the PIN has been forgotten, reinstalling the device’s system software (firmware) could solve the problem and avoid having to go to Technical Service or change the device. Keep in mind that with this method we will get the most recent update for our Motorola, but all files and applications will be deleted.

What we need

To proceed with this method, we will have to have some essential elements:

  • Original mobile USB cable
  • Download and install “Recovery and Smart Assistant” (RSA) on PC
  • 2 GB of available disk memory
  • Internet connection
  • Click on the tab “El Salvar”

Once we have the RSA program installed on our PC, we must register if we are not, and we can proceed through three different methods , depending on the state of our mobile:

Enable USB debugging on the device

Click seven times on the build number in Settings / About the device. We return to the previous screen and choose “Developer options” Now we will see the box to activate the debugging mode. then we will connect the USB cable to the computer and wait for the tool to find the software for your device.

If USB debugging cannot be enabled

in this case we will enable the fastboot flash mode. It is done by turning off the mobile and then pressing the power and volume down keys until the terminal starts fastboot flash mode. Once done we will use the USB cable to connect the mobile to the PC . Finally, we wait for RSA to find the software for our mobile.

If USB debugging mode or fastboot flash mode cannot be enabled

In this case, in the Shutdown mode tab we will touch OK. If the device is registered with the RSA, we will have to mark it from the list of registered devices . Otherwise, we will have to select the mobile model and choose the device properties to choose the correct software.

Download and finish the process

Once our mobile phone is correctly connected and the software has been found, we will click on “Download” and it will be saved in the chosen location . After downloading the file, click on “Rescue now” to install it. Keep in mind that the process will take a few minutes and there may be pauses during the process. It is important to keep the cable connected all the time until completion. Once finished we can remove the cable and the terminal will turn on correctly updated.
