The Most Powerful High-end Mobiles According to AnTuTu

Now that we begin to see the end of 2020 closer and closer, and when all brands have already presented their bets on the high-end range, we can know with more precision which are the most powerful mobiles of the year. As is usual, the famous AnTuTu performance program has already prepared its ranking, with the high-end mobiles that have obtained the highest scores in their tests , that is, the most powerful we can get in our hands, in terms of devices Android is concerned. However, when we take a look at the list, we realize that the most powerful of the year is far from our reach.

This year there has been a substantial improvement, with the arrival of the Snapdragon 865 . Most of the high-end terminals integrate this processor, with the exception of some Exynos and Kirin, which little by little are claiming their place. So much so, that one of the latest rumors suggests that firms such as Xiaomi, OPPO or Vivo, will integrate Exynos chips in some of their next releases. However, in the latest AnTuTu ranking we found a surprise.

Huawei reigns with its Kirin 9000

The first place in the ranking of the most powerful mobile phones of the year is currently occupied by Huawei, with its Mate 40 Pro and thanks to the new Kirin 9000 processor , with which it has reached 685,000 points. In second and third place are the iQOO 5 Pro and iQOO 5, with a Snapdragon 865 processor and with 663,979 and 663,767 points respectively. It is curious to see how a whole Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, with the same Snapdragon 865, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, has been in sixth place in the ranking, showing once again that not all are the numbers, and that device optimization is key.

The bad news

It is the least frustrating to see the list of the most powerful mobiles of the year and see that we cannot have at the moment, none of those that appear in the top positions. In the case of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, we know that it will reach the market, but it does not yet have an official launch date, although our sources assure that it will arrive in stores before the Christmas holidays. In second and third place we see two terminals that are not currently within our reach. The iQOO brand was born in early 2019, as a sub-brand of Vivo. It aims to be an independent firm specialized in gaming mobiles, where performance prevails above all else, judging by the AnTuTu ranking, there is no doubt that they are achieving it. At the moment there are no plans for its official commercialization in Europe, so its purchase is reserved to the Chinese portals for the import of electronic products.

Something similar happens with the Vivo X50 Pro +, which is the fourth most powerful terminal of the year so far. Vivo has just landed on the European market and it has done it just as other brands did in its day, that is, with firm and powerful bets on the quality / price ratio, but reserving its most powerful high-end for the future. There is no doubt that if the market responds positively to Vivo, we will end up seeing its full potential.

And the future?

These performance samples may be small, when Qualcomm officially unveils the new Snapdragon 875 , which will be the brain of many of the high-end phones of 2021. Before its launch, an AnTuTu score has been leaked that supposedly belongs to this chip and that manages to exceed 847,000 points, which represents an increase in performance of more than 25% compared to the current Snapdragon 865. The big question now will be to know which smartphone will be the first on the market to integrate it and show off power.
