But the manufacturer has finally decided to apply a change of scenery, and for this it has presented the new version of WebOS 6.0 that will come to its new Smart TVs with 4K and 8K resolution.
What’s new in WebOS 6.0?
The main change we are going to find in the visual aspect, since the brand has eliminated the lower dock of applications to give way to a menu made up of quadrants as we have already seen in many other interfaces on the market. It is a visual aspect that we find quite attractive and that could bring greater comfort when choosing content and navigating between applications. The new menu will present the applications and streaming services that you use the most on the main screen so that you always have them at hand, also showing recommendations based on your usage history.

Many more voice commands have been included in the ThinQ AI artificial intelligence with which to control the television with the help of Google Assistant and Alexa, and in addition, the new remote control has a more traditional and rectangular design than that of previous generations , including direct access to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney +, Google Assistant and Alexa.
As if that were not enough, Magic Explorer will be a function that will be in charge of displaying information related to what appears on the screen, being able to show you information about the actors or places that appear in the content that you are consuming at that moment.
From the phone to the big screen via NFC
Another of the most striking functions in relation to interaction with television will be found in the remote control, since this new version includes an NFC function to be able to link our phone quickly with the TV and be able to send content in a matter of seconds .
What models will receive WebOS 6.0?
For now, after its official announcement, LG has confirmed that the television models that will receive the new version of WebOS 6.0 will be the Smart TV launched in 2021, with OLED, QNED Mini LED, Nanocell and UHD being the models that will receive it ( practically all).
The question is now whether the models from 2020 and previous years can also be updated to this new version of WebOS 6.0, something that should not present problems in principle, but that we will not be able to confirm until the manufacturer clarifies the situation officially.
