Now it seems to be confirmed that the iPhone 12 released this year will incorporate a considerable reduction in this.
IPhone 12 design takes shape
Apple‘s great dilemma with the notch is not only for an aesthetic matter, but eliminating it would mean giving up one of the best features of the iPhone: Face ID . This biometric system is made possible by a complex sensor system called True Depth that is housed in this notch. There are already advanced technologies to incorporate Touch ID on the screen and in fact in Cupertino it is not ruled out to include it, but not at the cost of ‘killing’ the facial unlock.
In recent weeks we have witnessed numerous revealed leaks of an alpha version of iOS 14 and now what we find is a possible outline of the iPhone 12 or one of its versions.
It is not entirely clear how many iPhone there will be this year, so it could correspond to a ‘Pro’ version or any other. In it we see how the notch has been reduced considerably compared to what has been seen so far on Apple mobiles.
The Twitter account @choco_bit shows this design in which we find several details in addition to the notch. On the one hand we observe a concept of how the widgets could be seen among the apps on the iPhone screen, a novelty that has leaked in the last few hours and has awakened great expectation after years claiming it.
On the other hand we see a rear part with a LiDAR sensor identical to what was seen in the latest iPad Pro .
Reliability of rumors
We always remain cautious about reports of new devices such as the iPhone 12. Despite the fact that sometimes they are reports from sources very close to Apple, the truth is that they cannot stop being considered rumors until the company itself announces it.
In fact, there have been several occasions in which the firm led by Tim Cook has changed his mind at the last moment, as we saw with the reversible charge of the iPhone 11, which later it was learned that it was prepared for lack of activation by software.
This year is perhaps more complicated than usual, especially when it comes to dates. The global health alarm due to the COVID-19 coronavirus is causing numerous delays and plan changes at Apple and many other companies that depend on it.
