From the app store
The clearest and fastest way to keep all those apps on our mobile devices up to date will be thanks to the phone’s own software store. Therefore, we will be facing four stores: Google Play , App Store , Galaxy Store and App Gallery . So, we invite you to see how you can update the mobile applications.
google play
The first, which all Android users will know is Google Play, more than anything because it comes pre-installed on smartphones that have this operating system. In addition, it is the official Google software store and, although it is not the only store available, it is the main one.
Therefore, this store takes care of checking for updates itself. That is why you will only find out that there are updates available for a certain app with a notification. However, you can always be the one to search for updates manually. To do this, we will have to open Google Play, access its menu and enter your profile> Manage apps and device. Within this section, you will see if there are updates at that time, or if the different software on your smartphone is up to date.
Galaxy Store
Samsung mobiles have their own software store, in addition to Google’s, specifically called Galaxy Store, formerly known by the name of Galaxy Apps. This store will serve us for different specific applications of the Korean manufacturer. Therefore, to have the new version of a certain software, we must enter the Galaxy Store and touch the menu button to enter My page .
Within this section, we will find the function to go to Update, in which a number will be displayed next to it if we have any pending. Otherwise, the process will be practically identical to that of Google Play.

In the case of the iPhone, the same thing will happen as in Google Play. They will always be kept up to date if we have the automatic option activated. If not, we will have to do it on our own whenever we want. To do this, we will have to access the App Store on the iPhone and then click on the user icon at the top right of the screen of your smartphone.
Then, you will enter the menu of your Account. Inside here, you will have to scroll down until you find the Available Updates section. In this case, you can choose if you go one by one. On the other hand, if you want to update all the applications, the ‘Update all’ function will appear at the top. The massive update process will start immediately and you should know that during this period you will not be able to run any type of application, having to wait a few seconds before being able to use them again.
AppGallery
Not only Samsung has its own repertoire, as Huawei also has an App Gallery. A store that has been on its smartphones for a while, although they began to push harder after the United States vetoed the Chinese company. Also, the update process is fast . To do this, we will enter the store and then access the Management tab, in the lower bar. Also, if there is any slope it will also be shown with a small red circle. From here, we can start downloading the new versions of the different software of our phone with EMUI.
automatic update
If you don’t want to have to search for new versions on your own, you can always enable a function that will make it possible for them to be updated automatically on your mobile . In other words, the phone will do it by itself so that we don’t have to worry at any time. In addition, for all these stores it will be similar. Although, it is clear that the process to enable this feature will change a bit.
In case you want to do it for your Android mobile device, go to Google Play. Then, open the options menu by tapping on your profile and tap on Settings. Then go to Network Preferences > Auto-update apps: On any network, Over Wi-Fi only, or Don’t auto-update apps.
To activate this same mode in the App Store, we must go to Settings> App Store> Activate the App Updates option. Here, you can choose to also use mobile data, in addition to the iPhone always asking us if we want to download it to the phone or not.
With Galaxy Store it will not vary much from Google Play, but to activate it we will have to enter the Samsung store> click on the three bars in the upper left corner> touch the gear-shaped icon> Activate the Automatic Update function. Here, we can also choose if we want to use only Wi-Fi, or both connections.
Finally, it is the turn of the App Gallery. In this case, we will have to enter your store and go to the Management section. Then, we will click on Updates > We will activate the option to Update automatically via Wi-Fi.
Manual update (APK)
Updating applications from a store is the easiest way that exists, but we can also find a more recent version of an app manually thanks to an APK file. However, for those iPhone users, the bad news is that we will not be able to download these packages in APK form , since they are not compatible with iOS. Therefore, we can only on Android.
Another problem here is that we will have to manually check which version we have and download a newer one. The quickest way is to long press on an app > tap on the ‘i’ (information) icon > Advanced. Then, we will have to slide down to find the version of the app.
Afterwards, it will be time to download the APK file of a higher version. For this, we recommend the APKMirror page. Of course, you must enable the Install unknown applications function and enable the browser you use (in our case it has been through Google Chrome). After downloading the APK, we will click on it and it will proceed to install it on the phone. If you want to install an older version, we will have to uninstall the application first.
