The voicemail is a good tool to manage all the calls that we have not been able to answer. It can also serve as a filter to avoid unwanted calls, although it is something that we will have to configure manually. Being able to divert all calls to voicemail is easy, but sometimes what we need is to divert a specific number , without the others being affected by the setting.
Sometimes there are incoming calls that we would prefer not to receive or leave them for another time. Voicemail is a good way for those incoming calls to be diverted, without cutting off the flow of all incoming calls. All mobiles, in the call options, have their own settings to divert calls to the mailbox.

Forward a number to the answering machine
In this way, within the call settings of our mobile, we can enter the section dedicated to call forwarding. Here we can choose to divert calls to a specific number, when we are busy, the mobile is not available or always. This diversion can be made to another mobile number or directly to the voice mailbox of our operator.

Diversion if busy, to mailbox number
However, these options are valid for all incoming calls that are in this situation, and not for a specific phone number. To achieve this we will have to do the following. First, we enter the call forwarding settings of our mobile. It is easy to find the option using the search box in the “Settings” Once inside, we will have to select “Forward when busy” Now we will have to choose the number of our operator’s voice mailbox and click on accept. The most common are the following:
- Movistar mailbox number: 123
- Vodafone mailbox number: 177
- Orange mailbox number: 242
- Yoigo’s mailbox number: 633
Second step: add to the Black List
Now we will have to make use of the BlackList function, that is, the blocking of unwanted numbers, which almost does allow blocking specific numbers . When we add a number to the blacklist, the phone returns to the caller the feeling that we are permanently busy. However, as we have activated the forwarding of calls to the voice mailbox, the specific number in the Black List will be forwarded to the mailbox directly.

Adding a number to the BlackList is a function that is integrated as standard in the mobile phones of almost all brands, including Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO or Realme. Just press and hold on the contact in the phone book or on the call history of the number in question to dial “Add to Black List”. If by any chance the function is not on our mobile, we can use a third-party app to do the same. In this way, calls from that specific number will go directly to voicemail.
