There is no doubt that the launch of Windows 11 marked a before and after. As for design, Microsoft opted to completely change the taskbar from one version to another of its operating system. In fact, it changed the items on the bar, as well as the position of the start menu.
Over time, Microsoft has been adding different innovations in its new version of the operating system. We can even see how the taskbar benefits even more from the Bing chat that they have been promoting with AI. But, what happens is that, from the technology company, it has also been betting on focusing its system on other devices, such as those that have touch screens. And the most curious thing of all is that we can enable a specific option on our PC.

The hidden taskbar in Windows
This version of Microsoft’s operating system has two interfaces depending on the user : for those who have a device with a touch screen and for those who do not. However, if for whatever reason we want to have that same feature on our PC, we can easily achieve it. You only have to follow a series of steps from your computer to configure the hidden taskbar .
It is true that it will not be as simple as opening the configuration menu, since we will have to edit the registry, but as you can see, it is not that complicated. However, the first thing before starting will be to download a particular tool: Vivetool . When you download the application for the PC, unzip the file and we can enter from CDM with administrator permissions and execute this code: vivetool /enable /id:39281392 .

When we have already completed the first step, which is to install the tool that we have mentioned, we will have to continue with the process by doing the following on the Windows PC:
- When it is installed, the computer will have to be restarted .
- Now, we will move on to open the Windows 11 registry .
- Within the registry, we will have to use the regedit command from the Windows search box to access the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer .
- We will go to the panel on the right of this directory and right click to select New .
- Then, choose the DWORD (32-Bit) Value option.
- The new element will have to be named TabletPostureTaskbar .
After following all this series of steps, you will have to click twice on this last element that we have just created to enter Value information and change the 0 to 1 . As simple as that. Now we will only have to restart the computer so that the modification that we have carried out in the PC registry is completed and the changes that we have made are reflected.

The moment we turn on the computer, the taskbar will have the same interface as on Windows devices that have a touch screen . In this case, its function is very simple, the operating system will allow us to hide the bar at any time if we are not using it. And it will be displayed at all times as long as we bring the mouse closer to the line that appears below in the center of the screen. However, there is a catch, and that is that to activate the hidden taskbar in Windows 11 you need to have version 22621.755 of this operating system.
