Windows 10 is a system much more than to work. Microsoft has worked very hard to make their OS a great gaming operating system. In addition to having a host of optimizations, enhancements, and the latest in gaming technology, it also has features designed to help us get the most out of the PC. One of these features is the Game Bar , or Xbox Game Bar, in Windows 10.
The Windows 10 game bar is a screen that is superimposed on the game by pressing the Windows + G keyboard shortcut and from which we will be able to access a large amount of information. In it we can, for example, find the list of friends and all Xbox social services , control the volume of the game, monitor the performance of the hardware, see the FPS of the game and even control and end processes without having to open the administrator of homework. We can even install widgets from your Store to control the lighting or the operation of our peripherals. And all with minimal impact on PC performance.

The Game Bar is available to all Windows users. However, since this weekend there are a significant number of those who are finding it impossible to open it, receiving an error message with the code 0x803F8001 .
Error 0x803F8001 – Xbox Game Bar is not available on your account
Throughout the weekend, a lot of Windows users have come across this error message while trying to open the game bar in the operating system.

After trying to update Windows, clear updates, and even reset the PC, affected users were still unable to reopen this tool. After much research, everything indicates that the cause of this error is the latest update, on the server side, that has reached this Windows tool. This update was implemented last November 5 and, to this day, it still affects a significant number of users around the world.
There is no common factor that tells us whether it will fail or not. This bug affects users from version 1809 to version 20H2 of the operating system equally. But only to random users, not everyone.
Microsoft has not made any statements in this regard, but is already working on fixing this error. However, while the solution arrives, we can try some tricks that will help us to be able to use this tool again.
Temporary fix to game bar bug
With the error being generated on the server side, there is not much we can do to fix this problem. But there are some little tricks that will allow us to play again without seeing this error message.
The first one that seems to work is disabling the Windows game bar. This can be found in the Settings menu , in the Games> Xbox Game Bar section . We uncheck the box and that’s it. As the game bar is disabled, we will no longer see this error 0x803F8001.
Another option we have is the ability to disable notifications from the Microsoft Store. From the Settings window , we will go to the System> Notifications section , and we will search the list for the Microsoft Store to disable notifications.
When Microsoft fixes this problem on the server side, and the Xbox Game bar works again without problems, we can re-enable it, together with the notifications from the Microsoft Store, so that everything works normally again.
