The apps on our Xiaomi phone are undoubtedly the hub of our daily activities, and of course where many of our most intimate and personal data are stored. That is why it is vitally important to be able to protect them from third parties. We suggest you protect your Xiaomi mobile apps with a fingerprint.

Within MIUI we have many available functions related to security, and this is surely one of the most practical, since it allows us to protect apps from unauthorized access by other people. In this way, it is not so easy to access for those who we do not authorize.
Add security to your apps
There are many apps on the market that offer us precisely this functionality, that of being able to protect an app so that it is only accessible by clicking on the fingerprint reader with an authorized fingerprint. In this way we avoid unwanted access . But in the case of MIUI this function is native to Xiaomi mobiles, and you can activate it like this:
- Access your Xiaomi settings
- Click on “Application lock”
- Access with the configured fingerprint, pattern or PIN

Now you just have to select from the list of installed apps which one you want to be protected in this way . You can choose, for example, WhatsApp, and that every time someone wants to access the app they have to press the fingerprint sensor, or any other, like Facebook, Instagram or Gmail. All those you choose will be protected.
Adjust this option to your needs
Within this menu we have the possibility to make some adjustments on how this feature works. By clicking on the nut in the upper right part, within these options, we have the possibility of activating this protection to all the apps installed on the phone. This means that we will not have to choose which one is protected in this way or not, but by default all the apps that we open on the phone will need our fingerprint, pattern or PIN to access them. Another option we have is to unlock all apps at the same time with this method, it is another of the variants of this functionality.

In this way, within this same menu, we can choose to press the fingerprint reader to unlock all the apps on our phone during that session . When we lock the phone, and we unlock it again, we will need to press the fingerprint reader again, enter the PIN or the pattern to unlock all the apps. Therefore, as you can see, it is a functionality that allows access to different degrees of protection, always based on our needs and the importance of the data we want to protect.
