Apple Watch Series 6: Leaked Screen and More

Little is known about what the Apple Watch Series 6 will look like, a watch that will presumably be presented in September and in which many users have their sights set on seeing little news from Series 4 to Series 5. Now we have been able to know a relevant detail about of its screen, which could displease those who expected a novelty in this regard.

No changes to the Apple Watch Series 6 screen.

Apple Watch Series 6

Good and bad news for those who want to buy an Apple Watch Series 6 in September or October when they go on sale. Bad because the screen will be the  same as the Apple Watch Series 5 , which in turn is similar to that of the Series 4 except for the function of being always on. The good news is that perhaps a change in this section would not be necessary, since we find a panel of  excellent quality and from which nothing can be reproached. Perhaps a different design or a better use could be good news, but it does not seem that it will occur in this generation.

in my dream the Apple Watch S6 will continue use the display from JDI

It has been from the L0vetodream Twitter account from which they have filtered this feature. This is an account in which we have already been able to see leaks that have been met in the past and most have been related to components, so they must have a reliable source in the supply chain. In their tweet they affirm that they will continue with screens from JDI, which stands for Japan Display, a company that handles these supplies for Apple and which Californians recently saved from bankruptcy with a fairly high investment of money. Therefore, we understand that the OLED panels  that the current Apple Watch carry will be present in the new version again.

What else is known about this watch

As we said at the beginning, rumors of the Apple Watch Series 6 are scarce. In fact it is usually common for this to be a more secret product than others such as iPhones. We do not know if it is because there is less evidence in supply chains, but the truth is that in a few years we have been able to obtain data that is strictly similar to what we later saw in the presentation. At the moment we have confusing information that points to developments such as  blood oxygen measurement , something the company has been working on for years and that could see the light this year. Also the  measurement of sleep is another novelty much discussed in recent months.

However, there are doubts about whether these mentioned functionalities would be from the new watch or from  watchOS 7 , the operating system of these watches that will be presented on June 22 at Apple’s WWDC 2020. The truth is that it could make sense that it is an exclusivity of the watch, since new sensors could be implemented that give greater reliability to the results obtained compared to what could be achieved with current ones.

In any case, there is less to know. September is the month marked in red by Apple, since that is when it usually performs its traditional presentation events for the iPhone, Apple Watch and the odd device. This year there are doubts about it due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, but the truth is that it could even occur as a virtual event such as this year’s developer conference. The launches are already more complex to predict because they could be delayed for a month for this same reason, but it would not initially impede their presentation.

We recently saw that Apple leads the wereables sector, including Apple Watch, making it evident the importance that Californians give to this device. We will see how they surprise us in their presentation, although we will be attentive to any possible information that becomes known in these summer months.
