Samsung has made official its new devices for the high-end during 2020, a series of smartphones that have sold accompanied by the change of nomenclature to leave the Galaxy S11 forgotten. This model specifically the Samsung Galaxy s20 + is the version that follows the basic one, offering us great similarities in a larger body.

The expected Samsung Galaxy S20 + incorporates four lenses on its back, highlighting a DepthVision depth sensor with which we will improve the result of our photographs. All this integrated in a module with which Samsung highlights its commitment to cameras in this new generation.

Aesthetics renewed with 120 Hz display

Starting with its appearance, where we find a terminal that presents a glass-based design , as we have seen on several occasions with the high-end Samsung. In its back as we have mentioned, we only find its module with three cameras and the sensor added with respect to the Samsung Galaxy S20, without encountering anything other than the name of Samsung at the bottom.

On the front we find a screen that grows with respect to his little brother, where in this case it reaches 6.7 inches . The screen has Dynamic AMOLED technology and save an aspect ratio of 20: 9 that will offer us a very panoramic format when placed horizontally to enjoy content under its resolution that reaches up to WQHD + but we can adjust to reduce battery consumption. Another important step that we see in this Samsung Galaxy 20+ is the screen with a maximum refresh rate of up to 120 Hz that we can also reduce and combine with the HDR 10+ to see for example streaming content and games.

Cameras with DepthVision sensor

The cameras of the entire Samsung Galaxy S20 range have suffered a face lift, in this case the Samsung Galaxy S20 + integrates the same sensors that we see in the Galaxy S20, although with an important addition that can make a difference, we talk about the DepthVision sensor that We could already see in Note 10. Its configuration with four lenses presents us with a main of 12 Mpx and aperture f / 1.8 to achieve the best results also with the night mode and complicated light situations. The second lens is also 12 Mpx and is the wide angle , designed to capture large spaces.

The third lens grows up to 64 Mpx to offer us the zoom functions with a ƒ / 2.0 aperture, which allows us to obtain a 3X optical zoom and up to a 30X digital zoom with which no element escapes our sight. As we mentioned, the great addition of the Galaxy S20 + is the DepthVision sensor that will help us achieve the most accurate focus and get a bokeh effect without error. With this integration we will have improvements in the portrait mode and the possibility of modifying the opening in edition according to our needs.

The video recording reaches 8K resolutions at 30 fps , making our mobile worth recording the best shots using modes we saw in previous generations such as Night Hyperlapse and Super Steady. On its front, the 10 Mpx selfie camera is in the shape of a hole and offers us a 4K video recording at 60 fps.

Power everywhere and big battery

This model also integrates the Exynos 990 processor, manufactured in 7 nanometers and mounted by the Cortex A76. To this we have to add its configuration based on 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a storage of 128, 250 or 512 GB of type UFS 3.0 , which is currently the fastest memory.

The battery has not been one of the strong points in recent years for Samsung although in this case we find 4,500 mAh that should be more than enough to resist all day. As if that weren’t enough, we have a fast charging of 25W , in addition to the already common wireless and reversible charging that we can use with the Galaxy Buds +.

Features to reign in the high range

One of the most important aspects of the high gaam of this 2020 will be 5G technology , an option that we find available in this Samsung Galaxy S20 + and also in the base version. In turn, if we are not interested, we can opt for 4G technology, maintaining the rest of the features. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is only available in 5G version.

As for the sound again we find the collaboration with AKG to integrate Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and maintain features of the previous version such as IP68 resistance to water and dust. What we do not find is audio jack and we will have to use headphones connected to the Type C port or to Bluetooth 5.0 that incorporates the device.

Androdi 10 is present in this new mobile phone, with One UI 2.0 , Samsung’s own personalization layer that integrates new features such as the new Google Duo default app for video calls.

Price and release date

The Samsung Galaxy S20 will go on sale next March 13 , specifically in Spain will begin reservations immediately for all its colors, where we find three options: Cloud Blue, Cosmic Black and Cosmic Gray .
